Recently we were unpacking boxes and boxes of stuff that we had in storage for a year and realized we did not miss, want, or need any of it. This led us to talking about why we have so much "stuff", what value it adds to our lives (or not), and how ingrained our habit of acquiring goods had become.
Then Patty heard a piece on the radio about "The Compact", a movement of people who have decided not to buy new things and curtail their consumption. We decided to give it a try.
